Aquarium Knowledge

Kevin Thomas

Hello everyone, I created Aquarium Knowledge as a resource for freshwater aquarium hobbyists.  Anyone interested in the fastest growing pet hobby:  the world of freshwater fish, will find content of interest here.   There are many sites out there dedicated to freshwater aquariums, some offering quality information, some not.  So how is Aquarium Knowlege different?  Because we saw something missing out there:  case studies and personal stories.  Aquarium Knowledge has come to fill this narrative gap  –  telling the stories that no one else can –  that is what we do better than any site in the world.  We’re doing more than delivering quality information over time; we’re bringing entertainment, artistry, and drama to the game.  So make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on any vital information.

  •     The Experts — I’m not a fish guru.  I’m still asking questions and looking for answers.  I’m still learning and making adjustments everyday, but if you’re looking for a fish guru then you’ve come to the right place because you’ll find the men and women with all the answers right here in The Experts section.  Every month, I’ll spend the day with an expert, picking his brains and harvesting the vital aquarium knowledge that we all crave.  Then I’ll report back to you here and present the story in full dramatic detail.
  •   The Adventure –section is where I chronicle my own aquarium story.  As of this writing, I have set up two ten gallon tanks, one 44 gallon diamond cut, and one 125 gallon tank.  I’m moving towards my eventual goal, which is a 600 gallon home aquarium filled with large, predatory freshwater fish.  I like the type of fish that the local pet store warns against housing with any other fish.  This brings an extra level of responsibility and drama as I’m constantly making adjustments while dealing with issues of dominance, aggression, and competition.
  •       Getting Started –  If you’re new to the hobby and looking for guidance, strategy, tips, and insider information not available to the general public, I would recommend that you start witht the Getting Started section, listed under categories.   Think of Aquarium Knowledge as an online strategy guide designed to help you every step of the way, from setting up your tank to socializing your fish.  Yes, I said socializing your fish!  Ultimately you’ll become a more efficient aquarist, derive more satisfaction from the hobby, and gain more enjoyment from your fish.
